Antique Georgian ring with one large diamond paste crafted in silver 800 and 15k gold. Diamond paste is a leaded glass faceted stone made to emulate diamond, the foil underneath brings sparkle and the painted black dot accentuate the depth of the stone. The classic Georgian cut-down or crimped setting is in silver (800) and quite oxidized creating a striking effect next to the yellow 15k gold band. The band has a lovely decorative detail on both shoulder and measures 2 mm and is 0.7 mm thin, this is a later addition. The paste is clear, it shows some grazing on the small sides facets. The foil is intact and as that stunning golden hue. The dimensions of the paste with bezel are: 6.5 x 8.5 mm and 6 mm for the height The 15k gold band 2 mm x 0.7 mm Ring size US 5 3/4, FR 51 and UK L it weighs 2.7 grams As with any foiled jewelry of that period, it is very important to keep them away from moisture.
