Large Pectoral French cross with Prayer Pinchbeck Ormulu Pomponne doublé 2 sides ooak

This is a very special cross, where to start.. 

Made out of Pomponne (the french equivalent to Pinchbeck and Ormulu: a mix of copper and zinc made to ressemble gold) this large pectoral cross bares some beautiful embossed french words, prayers in fact! One of each side! the first one says: " Ô mon enfant donne moi ton coeur à jamais" : O my child give me your heart forever, the second says: " Ô doux Jesus demeurez toujours en nous" : "O sweet Jesus always live/remain in us" Both sides also bare a flaming heart at their center representing the fervor of faith.

There is a slight "coin edge" border that has disappeared at some places.

My best case for the fabrication method is embossment/stamping and as for its age, I would say 19th century and that it was maybe a 1st communion/confirmation present?

Measurements: height 6.4 cm (with bail) Width 3.9 cm Thickness 1.4 mm Weight 7.7 gr

It hasn't been polished in order to preserve the peculiar yellow matte shine that this metal exhibits, but I can do it upon request after purchase, I will look and shine like 18ct gold!
