What a splendid pair of rare pink foiled Georgian paste earrings! "Paste" is the name given to facetted leaded glass resembling diamond, the first diamond imitation in a sense! They are dangling from 18k yellow gold French wires and dance with you catching every bit of sunlight These most likely were some cufflinks crafted in the late 1700, the foil inside is wonderfully weathered, the effect is stunning! The paste themselves are in good condition for their age, no cracks but some light scratches, they are clear and reflect light bouncing back to the foil beautifully. The glass stones are set in place in a classic Georgian bezel, the edges have a millegrain still visible. The silver has a lovely original patina that enhance even more their brightness and contrast with the yellow gold. I note a puncture of the silver back at the end of a small depression in the metal.
